21 November
Our screening collective Canal++ returned with a collaboration with Eye Filmmuseum for a screening with Christopher Harris, which was part of their ongoing series Eye on Art and their series Sweet 16, celebrating the 100th anniversary of 16mm film. More info here.

8-19 November
I was film program advisor at the 37th edition of IDFA, the documentary festival in Amsterdam. During the festival, I was in conversation with Kaori Oda (Gama) at Eye Filmmuseum, and moderated Q&As with Mustafa Uzuner (La cancha) and Elene Asatiani & Soso Dumbadze (Limitation). I participated in podcast episodes Docs in Orbit and The Last Thing I Saw where I discussed films and recapped the events that took place during the festival edition.

5 November
I presented a short film programme in response to Kristina Benjocki's exhibition The Warp and Weft of History at Looiersgrahct 60, Amsterdam, and specifically her latest film installation co-directed by Stijn Verhoeff. The programme will include works by Joshua Gen Solondz, Maryam Tafakory and Sylvia Schedelbauer. More info here.

I was co-organiser for the ReCNTR symposium Interstitial Infrastructures where interdisciplinary research centres and research-driven arts organisations were brought together. I co-organised a ReCNTR event with Sabine Groenewegen and Riar Rizaldi, which took place at Filmhuis Den Haag with a screening in collaboration with Glued & Screwed, which was followed by presentations on recent projects by both artists at KITLV, Leiden University, with Rachael Rakes and Jo-Lene Ong as respondents, moderated by Ward Berenschot. ReCNTR organised a screening and talk with artist Jumana Emil Abboud, in collaboration with curator Nat Muller. The screening was a co-presentation with LIMA and ArteEast and took place at LAB 111, Amsterdam. More info here. 15 February
I coordinated Time Tunnel: Takahiko Iimura at Kino Arsenal, 18 April 1973' for Berlinale Forum Expanded at the 73rd Berlinale. In this presentation that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Iimura's video screening, several video works have been identified and digitised by VC Tokyo. Ulrich Ziemons and I had a conversation about the project (listen here) and I wrote an article on Iimura's 1973-74 stay in Berlin for the Arsenal website (read here).

I presented a talk and workshop at Sandberg Instituut, Amsterdam, for the students of the Studio of Immediate Spaces. My talk was on expanded cinema in 1960-70s Japan and my workshop asked the students to imagine a researcher (i.e. me) ask them a bunch of questions in 2072 in order to preserve and exhibit their work.

I curated the film programme Land Marks which was presented as a looped presentation at Le Plaza Cinema in Geneva, Switzerland. Netherlands Film Academy MA Artistic Research in and through Cinema graduation. Today marks the end of my time as mentor for this programme. I joined late 2019 and was a primary mentor for artists Abhay Kumar and Sarah Fernandez. During my time as mentor, I organised talks with Frank B.
